LaGrange Alumni Chapter 

chapter history

During the summer of 1977, 3 brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Albert Gilliam (Beta Beta '68), Carl Cotton (Macon-Warner Robins Alumni '76), & Morris Atkinson (Beta Beta '71), met at the home of Albert Gilliam with an expressed interest in forming an alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi in LaGrange, GA. On Sunday April 9th, 1978, the LaGrange Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered. The chartering brothers of the chapter were:

Albert Gilliam (Beta Beta)

Richard Jackson (Beta Zeta)

Ulysses Williams (Beta Zeta)

Morris Atkinson (Beta Beta)

Anthony "Tony" Hardy (Eta Mu)

Thurmond Billingsley (Beta Zeta)

Charles Brown (Alpha Lambda)

Carl Cotton (Macon-Warner Robins)

Ronald Chapman (Gamma Lambda)

Clifford Johnson III (Gamma Chi)

Brother Albert Gilliam (Beta Beta '68) served as the LaGrange Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., first Polemarch.  

Brother Carl Cotton (Macon-Warner Robbins '76) was the first Keeper of Records and helped write and establish the LaGrange Alumni Chapter's By-Laws.

Brother Leon Coverson was the first initiate of the LaGrange Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in 1979. Brother Coverson also served the SEP as the province auditor.
